A terrifi affirmation!

This is an extraordinary book for young girls and it keenly exceeded my expected values as a Mom. I LOVE it is strongly affirming message, which is all too rare these days. I read it with my 4-year-old daughter and she adores it. Great illustrations and fun sparkly pages with pull-outs. It’s an amazing gift to part with a child you love.

Great lessons for boys and girls!

The editorial book description encapsulates the delectations of this book well, but misses one major point. While the book may seem addressed for little girls to support construct and beef up their self-esteem, I think it’s also crucial for boys to be exposed to that message. Teaching boys that girls are beautiful, strong, evenly deserving of love, respect, nurturance and acceptance, is a message that ought to be delivered from an early age and to all children–boys and girls alike. Two pictures and lessons (e.g., “I’ll learn with regards to life from other points of view” and “Decisions will be made with thoughtfulness, benignity and care”), in particular, were exceptionally noteworthy values that I only wish the adults (and political leaders) in our life took observe of more when they were young.

One word of caution: The book is larger than most board books and the material is not as strong. This book may be better cherished by kids 2 years old and above. Otherwise, be prepared that the pages may rip from curious and anxious hands as they turn the pages.
