1Smiley Face Killers

The firstborn 91 pages were taken word for word from a web internetlocation Footprintsattheriversedge. The second half of the book had too a great deal of misprints, was not proof read, facts were incorrect, and it was jumbled as even though the author didn’t grasp what he/she was talking about, peculiarly with regards to FBI profiling. The book went all over the place as I tried to follow along. What a ride. In the end, I didn’t learn anything new other than I wasted a heap of cash on the book. The author needs to proof-read his/her work and take a writing class.Smiley Face Killers: Coincidence, Conspiracy, or Cover-Up?

3Thought-provoking and sad

There were a lot of facts revealed in this book that I had not heard yet. I found the content to be very disturbing because of the tragedies described, and the authorities’ denial of a possible connection. I find it too hard to believe that these cases are plainly a coincidence because of heavy drinking. If that is all there is to these young men dieing, how did so a heap of of them “dissapear” so quickly?!

1Next time, recompense for an editor!!
By mossygredunza
I just finished reading this book, was in the first place fascinated in it is content due to the a heap of deaths near to where I live (La Crosse, WI). I was very skeptical that some deaths could be attributed to a mystery society of serial killers, and after reading I still believe that most likely the over-consumption of alcohol was the culprit.

Numerous deaths are due to alcohol, such as drunk driving or aspiration of vomit, but for numerous reason drowning must be caused by serial killers “pushing” their victims into the water, or even more conspiracy crazy, basi abducting their victims, drugging them, and slipping their bodies later into the water. What I actually wanted to see was scientific evidence. If there were smiley faces found, why no pictures? And if the bodies that underwent autopsies were determined to be drowned, was it “dry” or “wet” drowning? How could it be plausible these men were abducted, killed, and dumped if the medical examiners found water in their lungs (wet drowning)? There was little science at all, other than very high levels of blood alcohol in most of the deaths.

Most disappointing of all, however, is the terrible editing, or lack thereof within the book. Punctuation mistakes, faults in switching tenses half way through a sentence, and double negative sentences leave the reader guessing at the true meaning of assorted passages. And I am not arguing that there were 2-3 such mistakes, I couldn’t turn a few pages without another mixing up sentence.

If you are fascinated in the story, it is a quick read, as long as the writing faults don’t bother you. The book leaves much to be asked, but accordingly so does the entire Smiley Face Killer theory.
